The 2022 Gunchukwa Clean Energy Project
Our first CLIC project was to provide 7.12kW of solar electricity and battery backup to an existing health clinic for the indigenous tribe called the Gunchukwa of the Arhuaco nation.
The health clinic was running about 22 days every month to provide routine dental as well as critical healthcare needs of 1,500 men, women and children for their community. They relied on electricity from a diesel generator, which is as expensive and difficult to transport as it is dangerous and toxic.
Our funds went directly towards the implementation of a photovoltaic system with lithium-ion battery backup capable of powering more than enough energy for their healthcare needs, both day and night 24/7. We provided turnkey installation as well as donated energy monitoring equipment to ensure the PV system is generating optimally.
